The interview process was very easy with HR. The interview was scheduled, but then rescheduled the day before due to a conflict with the interviewer. It was a night-time interview, which was a little bit of a red flag that I needed to adjust my schedule to China. The interview with the manager was very awkward. I have many years of experience with managing services for non-US companies and the language barrier was very high. My questions were not understood and found I needed to reask more than several of them. The questions that he asked were very TikTok centric, and instead of hearing my experience of successful process implementation and change management solutions, he wanted to hear the answer that matched how he would solve it. Another red flag. I am not sure if it’s the Tik Tok culture or the individual person, but it was the most awkward and frustrating interview I have ever had in my career. I was not given an offer and even if I did, I would have not accepted.
