The interview process was dragged out over 3 months. Unnecessarily lengthy, while experienced poor communication and coordinating with HR 3x in the 8 phase process. Prepared immensely for every interview, panel review, marketing briefing and board presentation. Made it to last round in 8 phases to find out two weeks later they picked someone else after I followed up 3x to receive communications post final phases. People seemed affable for the most part, some you could tell were not happy to be doing what they were doing and were emotionless. All in all every person I spoke to did not seem to have a healthy life / work balance, no matter how well they tried to depict their day to day agendas. TikTok is one of the fastest growing companies, it is being built in motion while scaling and flying simultaneously. With that in mind, it's understandable employees would have a lot on their plate and be dealing with broken systems and bugged software constantly, which they admitted to and a couple you could tell were stressed out by this factor. Interviewers played it off as 'It's the name of the game', sure, if that's the game you want to play. I prefer employees to have a healthy life / work balance, as human beings, we all deserve that... At the end of the day, you're building someone else's dream already, the least employer's can do is invest more in the individuals that make up the backbone of the company. Frustrating process and an unsatisfactory ending to it all. Clearly wasn't meant to be. I wish all future candidates the best of luck in every regard.
