I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TikTok (New York, NY) in Oct 2023
Interview
Never was able to experience it. Applied on LinkedIn to the Account Manager position and was asked to schedule a call. First call was rescheduled after the interviewer was nearly 10 minutes late and then said, "we lost wifi," which confused me because since when do you need that to make a phone call? I offered other dates/times to chat, and when the time came around, the interviewer never called me and I haven't heard from them since. This is the second or third bad experience I've had dealing with TikTok recruiters.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. Location: Can you confirm that you are located in Austin? 2. Timeline: When are you looking to start a new role? 3. Hybrid Work: Will you be able to come into the office 3 days a week? Eventually 4?
I had a very positive experience with the interview process. Communication was clear and timely throughout, and I always knew what to expect at each stage. The interviewers were professional, well-prepared, and genuinely engaged, which made the conversations feel more like a two-way discussion than a formal interrogation.
Each step of the process felt purposeful and well-structured, and I appreciated the transparency around the role, expectations, and team dynamics. I was also given the opportunity to ask questions and received thoughtful, honest answers.
Overall, the process was smooth, respectful of my time, and left me with a strong impression of the company, regardless of the final outcome.
I had a screening interview with the recruiter and then directly with the manager, which I personally didn’t like because I felt as he was making me a favour to be there
Hr called me, asked me a few questions, intro, why you leave your current company, are you actively looking for new opportunities etc. The interview progress is smooth, and pass me to hiring manager round very smoothly.
