Interview
Streamlined interview process. Spoke with recruiter, then the hiring manager, then had a panel interview with people on the time. Everyone was incredibly nice and it made the interview process feel more like a conversation than an interview.

I applied online. I interviewed at Toast Inc in Feb 2023
Interview
Recruiter reached out and set up initial screening. Then interview with hiring manager - Director of Product. Then a back-to-back interview with Senior Product Manager, UX Designer, then the executive. Had to reschedule the executive one because he was traveling. He didn't show up to the reschedule. Rescheduled again. Had the last interview. Didn't hear back. I follow up three times in the last month and a half and they kept responding with "we'll get back to you". Being ghosted after 5 interviews is extremely unprofessional. Maybe Toast has a great company culture, but they have a messed up recruiting culture.

Thank you for sharing this feedback, and for taking the time to interview with Toast. I am beyond disappointed to hear that this was your experience interviewing with us, as it is in direct conflict with our expectations for the candidate experience. I'd really like to hear more about what happened here. If you're open to a follow-up conversation, please reach out to me directly on LinkedIn. - Eric Polkow, Director of Talent Acquisition, R&D
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Toast Inc (Newton, MA)
Interview
I applied through a referral. Received a follow up via email to schedule a recruiter call. Spoke with Jae and the conversation went really well - next round.
Spoke with the hiring PM. They called 12 minutes late and the interview was only 30 minutes. Good conversation but felt rushed. Confirmed at beginning I did have a hard stop, got to the end, they asked to go over and I sadly couldn’t, so call ended rather abrupt.
Result - I didn’t get past the hiring manager phone interview. Really wish I would have had the full 30 minutes to discuss more nitty-gritty role specifics. On my part, I failed to effectively probe to learn more.
