I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Toggl in Jul 2025
Interview
They make you do a 20 minute questionnaire (some multiple choice, some open ended questions). I filled it out and pressed submit and scored 86% (doesn't say what you passed or failed on). I have all the 'required' skills and experience so was hopeful with this and a high score I would proceed to next stage but alas, I received a blunt email to tell me I wasn't successful and they wouldn't be giving me any feedback. That's 20 minutes down the drain and a bad impression of Toggl, won't be recommending them to anyone that's for sure.
Need to work on their candidate experience. There's a way to gracefully reject someone, even if you can't give feedback (although I think you should if you're making people do an unpaid task). I used to work in recruitment and as a token of thanks for someone's time we'd send them a product discount code, offer to connect on linkedin, send an invite to an external industry event (usually a tech meetup) and wish them all the best. There's so many small things you can do to make people feel better when rejecting them but being blunt and immediately refusing to take 1 minute to type out feedback when you've just asked candidates to give you 20 minutes of their time is a good way to turn people off and make your company look bad! Karma is real, if you treat people like this, word gets around and people don't like doing business with companies like this.
There was a skills test using their own platform with instant scoring. Then they contacted me to do a test assignment. Then they scheduled a 30 min cultural interview call.
