For the first step I talked to a guy to ensure my English is good. The second interview was a Codility test. The third interview is where things went bad. After a chat about my skills, the interviewer gave me a coding exercise. I had an almost working solution but the time ran out. He ended the interview. I’ve passed interviews at Facebook, Amazon, Google, and other top companies. It’s bizarre that I failed this one. I’ve also interviewed engineers when I worked at some top companies. We evaluate on many factors and never fail someone if they don’t finish. Usually we have a conversation on what they would have done next if they had more time. Interviewing is an imperfect process and failing people this way filters out many great engineers. Guess I’ll try again in a month…
