I applied in person, and was called for an interview about 2 weeks later. It was a group interview, but there was only 3 of us, so it was okay. Because it was in the mall, it took place at a table outside the food court.
The assistant manager was really nice, and she asked us pretty basic questions about fashion, our favorite clothing items, and why we wanted to work for Torrid. The interview part lasted only about 10 minutes, and then she brought us back to the store.
She then gave us a task, given by the head manager. She asked us to pick out an outfit for an imaginary customer who was about to go on a blind date, and needed help looking for a cute but conservative outfit. After we picked one out, we presented it to the head manager and told her why we picked it. Afterward, the manager talked to us and told us they were basically looking for fashion-forward people who were energetic and friendly. She then said she would be doing a second, one on one interview with whoever she picked and that we should expect a call the next morning. I never got one, but the interview was still pretty fun.
