Interview
I had to call the store multiple times to catch the newest store manager to set up an interview but finally we made it happen! I came in for an interview and the store manager was running a tad late from her lunch. We sat in the chairs outside the store in the middle of the mall and talked all things fashion. She asked me all the basic questions one is asked during a retail interview. She then explained that Torrid is working its way out of the shadows of Hot Topic and felt that I would be a good match because the company wants anyone to walk into the store and find something or someone they like or connect with. She explained that having a young face on the sales floor (when I first began I was the youngest person in the store) alongisde the faces of those in their 40's may help someone feel that Torrid does not dismiss anyone based on their age or personal fashion sense. There was no 2nd interview process, I did not meet with assistant manager or DM. I was offered a position on the spot. She met my current wages and I was offered a promotion after 4 months of working as a retail sales associate.
