I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Santa Rosa, CA) in Jun 2016
Interview
I applied in person on a Saturday and filled out a paper application while I was there since it was very short( I tried to apply online weeks earlier only to find out that they don't use them for new hires). On Sunday, they called me back to set up an interview(the call didn't show up but I found the voicemail Monday morning). I called them back and they told me to come in the next day. When I walked in, the atmosphere was pretty relaxed, and since they weren't ready they told me to go look around the store until they needed me. A few minutes later, they called me back to talk in a group consisting of mates and the captain(I didn't know it was the captain until my first day...). They asked a few questions about where I came from, how my previous jobs went, and what were my aspirations for after I get out of college. Towards the end of the interview, the captain started to set up my next meeting, which would be to fill out paperwork. At this point, I was not aware that I got the job, but I got a call later that week asking me when I could come in to do paperwork. I had to explain that I already was scheduled to do paperwork and they ended up telling me that I somehow got the job that same day.

Question 1
what was the most challenging moment at my previous job.
Applied online and had one in person interview with the captain. It lasted maybe 10 minutes. Got a call a week or so later that I got the job. Very fast process.
It's two to three interviews, the final with the Captain (or highest manager) of the store. The interviews are largely to get to know your personality and how well you would do at customer service.
The interview process was absolutely wonderful! I didn't feel stressed or nervous and it felt like I was just chatting with a friend! Trader Joes is a great company and the interview was great.
