Interview
You submit an application in person, shake hands and talk for a bit. Then they say they'll call or email you to schedule an interview. Seems you should dumb yourself down on the application. My antisocial friend who flunked out of college and studied a dry subject got a call back. I, the friendly one, who has a postgraduate, works in the arts and has exactly the same availability did not receive a call back from the same store. If you're well educated I suggest leaving it off the application. Ironic that their vision was to fill the aisles with "unemployed PhDs" but they want typical retail staff.

Interview
Two interviews. Both were enjoyable and I could tell they care about the employees well being. I was very comfortable with the interviewing style.
I returned for a second interview a week later and was offered the job.
pretty good, asked a lot of questions, nice people, I have been a shopper with trader joes, the people are helpful, and I have done a lot of work in customer services, and I believe I will be a great fit at trader joes.
1 phone call, two in person, never got the job. Short and simple interview, the third one was long but it was just the employee yapping about the job and what they do. Pretty lame considering they already knew they weren’t going to hire me. Said they were gonna call me and never did. Just call and say that you don’t wanna hire me and move on, how hard is that?
