Interview
You don't have to apply online!! When you go to turn in your application, they're actually interested in meeting you and talking to you. It doesn't matter how you look on paper. If you've got a personality, and you let it shine, they'll notice! So, as soon as you turn in your application, they give you a pre-screening - just a few questions about why you want to work there, etc. They like if you're enthusiastic. After the pre-screening, you'll get another interview. Probably with the Captain of the store (the manager).

What are your favorite Trader Joe's Products? Why do you want to work at Trader Joe's?
Applied online and had one in person interview with the captain. It lasted maybe 10 minutes. Got a call a week or so later that I got the job. Very fast process.
It's two to three interviews, the final with the Captain (or highest manager) of the store. The interviews are largely to get to know your personality and how well you would do at customer service.
The interview process was absolutely wonderful! I didn't feel stressed or nervous and it felt like I was just chatting with a friend! Trader Joes is a great company and the interview was great.
