What was in the job description, and what I spoke with the hiring manager on the phone prior to 1:1 onsite interview had nothing to do with what was then happening in 1 on 1. There was also present his boss. Boss asked me what I think about their website and I naively told them the truth where I see room for improvement. After that the scope of job started to shrink by the minute and eventually came down to wanting me to provide tech support for their eCom platform. I made a comment to that effect but it made things only worse. Interview ended shortly with "we'll let you know" and 3 days later, when I inquired, the hiring manger told me that he already hired somebody else. Before that the job was open for more than 3 months. I understand that there can be a personality mismatch or I exposed something that no one dare to speak in that company because everything's perfect but for me this was plain waste of my time. I spent 8 hours preparing and another 4 on day of the interview and it all came down to some dishonest and disrespectful BS from the manager.
