I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Tripadvisor in Sep 2022
Interview
First stage with recruiter with technical difficulties (I could hear just half of what she was saying tbh) but it went well. Passed to second stage with a person from the team that covered the same role I applied for but in a different language.
I was told by the recruiter that it was just about my CV and my skills and not to prepare anything. But she had a long list of questions and probably expected a very specific answer to each one, which I understand, but it would have been nice to have a heads up. It was more behavioural overall, than competency based.
The interviewer looked bored and like didn't want to be there in the first place. She always looked at her other screen, searching for the next question and I couldn't read anything on her face. She made me feel really uncomfortable and was not welcoming at all. When asked to give me examples to a question to give her the perfect answer she told me "its your interview, not mine". Also when I asked questions at the end of the interview about why the role was posted and why they were looking for a language expert that had to work into another language as well (while not being native of that second language), she gave me an answer I didn't fully understand tbh. I was very confused.
I didn't shine during this interview, but it could have gone better if they told me what things to focus on before and if she didn't make me feel so uncomfortable. She never smiled.
Also, after two stages they sent me a no-reply email email with the usual "we are not progressing with your application and blah bla bla". At this point I expected a direct approach from one of the recruiters that had been in touch with me with a personalised feedback.
