      Front End Developer Interview

      Aug 20, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Turbonomic (Boston, MA) in Jul 2015

      Interview

I applied online one evening and got a call the next morning. The internal recruiter was kind and very helpful, he stressed that they thought I was a good fit and that their hiring timeline was fast. I has to follow up once or twice and then got an interview in Boston. The new building looks really nice, but I think the long rows of tables with 30+ people on each side and no dividers would make it really difficult to concentrate on work. They had a snack station, coffee, etc, and lots of games which made it seem fun. Interview was pretty standard, I met with the recruiter, then the head of the web team, and then his supervisor. I was quizzed on some coding questions. It seems like they're not exactly sure what the position will entail and it will depend on what projects arise. Everyone was very professional and kind. In the end I didn't get an offer, so I asked why and was told I didn't have enough experience in a certain area of coding. I was a little disappointed since I do have some experience there but wasn't asked any questions about it during the interview and it wasn't included in the job description.

      Interview

Applied directly on company career page. Received an email with a link to schedule a phone screen with HR. You enter dates/times that work for you and then HR sends you an email confirming the call. Next step was 30 min HR phone call. Primarily asked questions about my experience, and questions about technologies that were listed on the job ad. Received generic rejection email a couple days after the initial HR phone call. Entire process took less than 2 weeks.
