I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Tutor Doctor (Toronto, ON)
Interview
I applied for IT support analyst job in Toronto. More than 2 weeks later, the HR had an initial phone interview and selected me for the first round of face to face interview. When I arrived the office I was given a piece of improperly printed paper test which basically measures your behavior. There is no right or wrong answer to those questions. Then I was told to read a sheet of paper which talks about the philosophy of TutorDoctor. Based on what I read from that sheet of paper I was told to write an essay about me and what I can do to contribute to Tutor Doctor. It was so boring to write long essays and I waited for more than an hour for the HR to call me. There were 3 other candidates who also waited for the HR to come. The lady came and asked a few questions from my resume in a very rush manner and said I'm certainly a perfect candidate for this position. She then informed that there will be 2 more rounds one with the Technical guy and another with the Director. I was not informed about so many rounds or tests, however I again waited for more than an hour to meet the Technical guy. He asked about what I know technically for about 45 minutes and then said I have all the skills they're looking for. The I was told that I will have to meet the director on another day and waited again for their call to meet with the director. After a few days I was given another call to meet with the Director. I accepted to meet him and waited for him to interview me along with a couple of other candidates. It looked like the 3rd guy was rejected already. This interview with the director was way too long with some technical questions, behavioral questions and funny mathematical kindergarten questions such as multiply, add, divide, subtract a number continuously. The manner in which he communicated looked as if he was really interested in hiring me. Now comes the worst part of my experience. They said they'll get back to me in a week after the hiring decisions will be made. It has been 2 months and they never returned by call or email to update the status of my application. I followed up in a professional manner after the interview was over as I should but I never ever had a single response to my application. I expected them to give a feedback atleast, but they never did. The funniest part is, after 45 days when I called and asked the lady at the reception to connect me with the HR over phone, she said there is NO SUCH PERSON as HR at their office. I even mentioned the name of the HR and I also said I attended interview there and met the HR. But the receptionist kept telling there is no such person in their office. IT WAS SO WEIRD! I also called and emailed the technical guy who conducted technical interview, but no use. No one bothered to return the calls/emails. They all acted as if the interview never happened. Now again there was one more weird thing that happened. I thought either of the two guys who were with me during the interview would have gotten the offer. But then the exact same job posting was made online but this time as temporary contract position. I then realized that none of those guys were given an offer just like me. It was understood that they did not even have enough budget to fit a candidate for the position and made us all wait and waste our time like fools. They should have provided a clear yes or no on your application, particularly if you took the time to interview. They were so inconsiderate and this situation appeared so rude.
