I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Tutor Doctor in Jul 2014
Interview
In Tucson the franchise calls each tutor who sends in an application. The phone interview is about 30-60 minutes in length. I guess I answered the questions right because we met at a library so I could feel comfortable. I spent one hour with one of the owners and another half hour with the other owner going over computer training to learn how to enter my hours etc. I had to give them permission for a background check ( I am not a pervert). They asked for three references and called them! I sent them my transcripts too so they could see what I was qualified to teach. They said if I wanted to learn the SAT and ACT testing I could make $25 per hour!!! But I don't have time with school. I might do the training over the summer so I can make more money.

I interviewed at Tutor Doctor (Stoke-on-Trent, England)
Interview
The interview process consisted of a medium length phone call followed by an in-person meeting. The process was comprehensive and efficient and both the questions asked and information provided to me by the company were relevant and useful.
It was a phone call interview. They asked a lot of behavioral questions and your past job experience. For example, "How do you do when the student is unmotivated? What do you do when students have different learning styles?"
