I applied online. They skipped the recruiter round and the first round was with the HM. I did not get to speak with the recruiter over the phone so not sure about the next steps afterward.
The is one of the worst interviews I've had... The first call I had was with the hiring manager, who's the head of the group. In the invite email the hr specifically highlighted it was an audio call only and I did not need to turn on video. however, when I got into the call the HM saw my camera was off and asked me to turn it on..... I did not feel very comfortable but did it anyway.. I could feel that I was immediately judged after I turned on my video.....
The interviewer got pretty disengaged afterward, it seemed like he did not care about my experience, very judgemental about my interest in the role and twitch. Kept asking me questions to prove that I am interested.... and asked me a question that i felt he just came up on the spot. When I was answering, it was clear he did not listen. Was typing, looking elsewhere, biting his fingers etc.... btw this is the head of the group not some sr.manager of director...... overall, I felt extremely disrespected during the interview.
Twitch - Please educate your interviewers to show basic manners on interviews.
The first round was with the hiring manager, who is the head of the Corporate Strategy group and would work closely with the new hire.
This was one of the worst interviews I've ever had by a large margin. The hiring manager was diminishing of my work experience and responded rudely to my answers.
There was no phone screen with HR and little clarity provided during this first interview on the expectations for the role (e.g., salary, in person work) beyond a high-level overview of the responsibilities of the role.
Most of the interview time was spent picking through my resume, why Twitch, and market sizing.
