I interviewed for a nurse position second to the current nurse as they are adding additional nurses at some facilities. The initial two phone interviews went well, were fairly quick after I applied. One was with a recruiter and the other with HR and the existing nurse. I was then contacted for an in-person interview, which is where it went wrong. The interview process was casual and relaxed; however, the current nurse was quite condescending. It was quite evident she was intimidated by my experience and wanted someone who would feel "beneath" her. I am not that person! I am a professional nurse, though she acted as if I could possibly not be capable of screening for Covid because I haven't done that specifically (really?!). I have worked in hospitals and many different settings, in which I've done much more. It got to the point I felt I was interviewing for a high school click as opposed to a professional position. I have not yet heard back either way, which would be quite unprofessional (to not notify me), but I wouldn't take the job regardless. I want to be in a position where one's weakness is offset by another's strengths and vice versa. I foresee her being difficult to work with and going through a few nurses to find a good fit. Otherwise, I feel it would be an okay place to work and I love the fact they are a Second Chance employer.
