I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at U.S. Bank in Feb 2015
Interview
I walked in and asked if they were hiring. I sat with both the Branch Manager and Sales and Service Manager, and spent an hour discussing my experience, banking as an industry, philosophy regarding our region and future of customer service at banks. Then I applied, filled out paperwork, did background checks, gave references, and followed up. The process took a month after I walked in, but was awesome. My managers were courteous, professional, and personable--they communicated a timeline for everything and all proceeded as told.
