      Sent my resume, after 2 weeks I received an email saying they'd like me to come in. Very upfront about the position and responsibilities, interview was somewhat casual, just discussed my skills and what the work environment would be like

      Hiring process was long, need to put in the legwork to get all the documentation together. Most academic hires I've seen is usually a referral, a volunteer or internal promotion. Unless that person is completely unqualified, the interview is usually a formality.
