Also, be aware that they can fire you at any time for any reason and you have no power to appose it not will the department help or protect you.

      Emailed the professor to discuss her research and my possible involvement in her group. Met with the professor along with a postdoc to discuss my background and research experience. The postdoc introduced me to the project that he was considering me for. He asked me questions throughout to gauge how easily I could pick up the physical concepts behind the project.
