You sit down with a recruiter, find out if you are qualified and begin the enlistment process to join the Army. You have to take and pass the entrance exam, pass a drug screening test, and also pass a physical. The process can take about two weeks. Then when it is time you ship to basic training.

I was nervous because I was joining the army. But the recruiters were friendly. Between having to go to the MEPS to take the ASVAB and then filling out the paperwork, the background check and the physical at the MEPS, was very time consuming.
