I applied in-person. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty in Sep 2013
Interview
I applied toward the end of July 2013 online as well as did the survey. Then I got a call sometime in mid August about the job interview. Now, the Ulta I applied for was not open it was still under construction so the manager told me to get interviewed at her location which was and arm and a leg away from me because I have no car currently. So, I agreed. Then later I called and asked her to transfer the interview to a location closer to me. And she gladly and ever so nice did. I really appreciated that. So, in my areas location I had my interview rescheduled twice but I kept in contact with both managers so they already knew who I was prior to the day I actually interviewed. Luckily, I loved the managers and apparently the feeling was mutual. And to cut the story, I got the job. Now, as for the interview process, they took me to the "back room" and it was a one on one. She was friendly, everyone was friendly we laughed made jokes...it didn't even feel like an interview.
She asked me 3 real questions.
1.) Tell me about yourself.
2.) Why Ulta?
3.) What do you have to offer?
You're asked about your previous work experience and if you have any transferrable skills to contribute to the workplace. Personality alignment and foreign languages were mentioned as well. They asked me about scheduling preferences and gave me a date for training.
A couple of technical and behavioral questions, overall a smooth process. Share you experiance in sales and passion for helping others in the beauty world. good luckgood luckgood luckgood luckgood luckgood luck
Straight-forward. One in person one on one interview with a manager. Short process and the manager was friendly. This was during the seasonal hiring time so I started working ASAP.
