      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Uncommon Schools (Newark, NJ) in Jan 2018

      Interview

A few days after submitting my application I was contacted for a phone interview the next week. A few days after the phone interview they contacted me to schedule an in person interview. The in person interview was a full morning of trial activities, a debrief meeting, and a formal panel interview. There were three other people there interviewing for the position, which was a little intimidation. That same day they let me know that they were contacting my references and a week letter they called with an offer. Throughout this process there was an emphasis on feedback. The interviewers often pushed and challenged you to think harder about the tasks or justify an answer.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Uncommon Schools in Apr 2019

      Interview

Pre recorded video interview that gave set amount of times to read/listen to the question, time to think, and time to respond. Overall it was a very structured process but I thought it was a little impersonal for a school position because I believe you should be able to show your personality more.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Uncommon Schools (Brooklyn, NY) in Oct 2018

      Interview

There was an initial screening interview, preset recorded questions to which you recorded your answers. This was similar to a phone interview. Then there was an in person interview where 4 or 5 other candidates were also brought in, but no aspect was a group interview. During the in person interview, 4 tasks were to be completed (write a letter to parents, an excel task, project management plan, etc.) and two 1 on 1 interviews were held. Overall, the interview took about 6 hours. The recruiter was kind, but the overall process was disorganized.
