I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at UniFirst (Pittsburgh, PA) in Aug 2012
Interview
I was required to sit through (2) formal interviews and a ride-along day. The first interview was a face to face with the (2) sales managers at the location. They got to know me and my personality and by the end of the interview asked me to read a couple page article and prepare for a presentation to them the following week. I did so and my second interview was a presentation on my reading and understanding of the article (article was call "The Road to Presidents Club"). For my third interview, I was asked to spend a half day riding along with a tenured sales rep on their team and get to know the position better. I'm sure the tenured rep reported back to the managers on my involvement and interaction throughout my half day.
Very straight forward and transparent. The process was very convenient. Although, there was not much negotiation for what you could receive compensation wise. They are stuck with what they can offer for a Sales Representative.
I applied online. I interviewed at UniFirst in Aug 2024
Interview
Very relaxed atmosphere hiring manager was easy to talk to she was straight forward with job description explained in detail what the job would be hours and rate of pay did not touch how commission worked in detail or benefits ( health vision dental )
Setup interview for about a week out. Got several confirmation emails and texts. On the day and time of, received a call from the recruiter only to tell me "Well we have several other applicants on the line so I'm not going to interview you until they decide tomorrow. I'll let you know sometime tomorrow." EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL WAY TO HANDLE APPLICANTS. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL. WON'T BE MOVING FORWARD.
