The hiring director contacted me via LinkedIn. I spoke with her briefly on the phone; and she was excited about my experiences and invited me onsite to meet the team. The in-person interview was a 30 minutes segment each. The first person scheduled was a higher up but couldn't make it so everyone got moved up. The interview started to go downhill as soon as I sat down across the table. The immediate manager who didn't get a chance to review my resume and needed a few minutes to look over. Understand. She is busy. Next, cross functional team members of 2. They look bored before speaking to me. Needless to say, that half hour with them was painful for me. Finally, the hiring director I spoke to on the phone. Half way through the interview, she started to show impatience with me by say, so you are... what about ... I was like, I never saidI have this or that so how can I talk about what I don't have. At the end, the HR coordinator checked to see if the person couldn't make the interview early on will now be available. I didn't think she would and was so anxious leave that I waited outside the interview room. Aside from the painful interview, 3 things stood out for me. 1) The HR coordinator taking care of my onsite interview was friendly and nice 2) Interviewers kept saying they want a right person (fit) for the role 3) one LinkedIn photo doesn't look anything like the real person.
