The interview process started out with a phone call to set up a phone interview. The Sales Manager never called when the phone interview was supposed to take place but called a few days later to reschedule. When the phone interview finally took place, I was asked to do an in person interview. At the interview I was told that there was only one position open instead of three that the Sales Manager mentioned on the phone. After the interview ,I was asked to put a power point presentation together and spend a day cold calling companies asking the companies to answer some survey questions. During the interview which took place on a Wednesday, I indicated that I would not be able to start the field work until the following Monday, my current boss is out of the office. Monday I started doing my field work and at the end of the day I received an email saying: Thank you for your time and interest shown in considering a position in the Sales Department at UniFirst Corporation. We were fortunate to have been able to interview a number of people with strong backgrounds such as yours, making the selection process a difficult task. We regret to say that we will not be moving forward in the process at this point in time. Your regard for our firm is greatly appreciated, and we wish you success in your job search. Again, thank you for your time. I found this very unprofessional. The sales Manager wanted me to jump through hoops when she already had candidates she was ready to hire before I had the chance to complete the assignment. Asking someone to take off work and blow a vacation day and not even giving the candidate the opportunity to finish is uncalled for. She could of easily told me that waiting until Monday would be too late or we are just not interested.
