I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Union County Public Schools (Monroe, NC) in Aug 2014
Interview
The hiring process consisted of filling out a lot of paperwork, including medical forms that needed to be completed by a doctor. This waiting period was the worst as you have to wait for all paperwork to be completed, submit the large packet, and then wait for the school board to approve it rather than having the school board trust the HR Department. There is a substitute handbook that is required to be read. Once you are approved you attend training and are set up in the system. You choose the schools you wish to work for.
