Uniqlo interview questions

Before Interview: The interview took place inside an empty restaurant and all interview candidates entered the restaurant from the outdoor seating area's gate first. There was the UNIQLO sign next to the gate for people to see where to enter from but I didn't see it at first because I entered from the parking lot. I wouldn't have known that the interview was taken place at the restaurant if I hadn't seen people dressed up professionally and sitting on the long iron bench against the gate. There was a recruiter sitting at a table in the outdoor seating area with stack of resumes (which they told us to bring one copy of to the interview) and a list of names on a clipboard. The first thing he asked me was if I had my resume and then asked for my name in which he wrote a number next to on his list of names. He then wrote the same number on the top corner of my resume and told me to take a seat and wait for my number. I started chatting with the person sitting next to me and I guess that calmed my nerves a bit. I even looked over some of my notes while waiting. I think I waited about 15-20 minutes until they called my number. I was led into one of the dining booths with other interviewing candidates and was interviewed by one of the assistant managers. 1st Round of Interviews: The assistant manager first asked us questions to try to get to know us better such as; Tell me about yourself. What are you passionate about? Tell me about a time when you had to adapt to change and how did you overcome it and/or what motivated you to overcome it? How flexible are you? The assistant manager took notes as we were talking and the atmosphere was pretty comfortable. The assistant manager then went on to explain why these questions were being asked of us and that was to see if we would be a good fit for the company. Furthermore, we were given more details about what our position entails, such as job description, work uniform, expectations, availability, etc. We were asked if we were okay with having our Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays blacked out, to close up the store twice a week, as well as whether or not we had any other vacation plans for the rest of the month. We were then asked if we had any questions for the assistant manager and this is where I recommend that you ask questions! The assistant manager then told us that if we wanted, we can take a seat in the middle of the restaurant and wait to speak with the general store manager a bit more about the position and the store. We all then went to sit with other interview candidates who have also been interviewed at another dinning both and were waiting to speak with the general manager of the store. Again, I started up a chat with a person who was in my group interview and the person I first chatted with outside the restaurant before my interview. We chatted among ourselves for about 20-30 minutes until the recruiter called my number again and with the people in my group interview as well as one other person from another group interview we were led to sit at a table behind where we were all sitting before while waiting to speak with the general manager of our store. 2nd Round of Interviews: We were interviewed by the general manager of another UNIQLO store who congratulated us on passing the first round of interviews. We were then asked more behavior-based interview questions such as; describe a time when you went beyond the call of duty in your job, when you did a task that was not part of your job description, how you dealt with conflict with either an employer, co-worker, or customer, what was your greatest accomplishment. I think there were 4 or 5 total questions on this round. The general manager also took notes to our answers and I think we were given scores on out papers. We were then asked if we had any questions for the general manager and again, ask questions! The more you know about the company and your position the more knowledgeable you'll be about the company culture and show that you are serious about landing the job. Be engaged, interested, and show that you want the position/job! The general manager then told one of the interview candidates that they'll be in touch if they decide to offer the position and when that person left, we were told that we were hired and were given the starting pay for our positions. Conclusion: All in all, there weren't any particular hard questions, the interview questions that were asked were already posted on GlassDoor by others. I also prepared for the interview ahead of time and that helped me out a lot. The UNIQLO employers seemed really friendly, and for some reason the recruiter taking the resumes at the beginning seemed friendlier after I turned in all of my forms for hire to him (at first I thought he was really scary and intimidating). I suggest to dress professionally (which I was also told to do beforehand), and to look and act like you want to be there.
