Totally BOGUS!
I have over 15 years of customer service experience, foreign language skills and living and working abroad skills. So, applying for a foreign language speaking FA job seems exactly in line with my experience.
Yet, after reading this site, it appears I wasn't asked to speak with others after my first interview (face to face).
I have never prepared so extensively for a job before...and for jobs with much more responsibility and higher pay. So, I felt great going in, had great answers for questions (thanks in part to this site too). Yet, I wasn't asked to stay. Seems like BS to me.
What's more is that ALL of the questions were negative. I get it, you want to see how someone will respond to more negative aspects of a job, but I wasn't given ANY opportunity to highlight the positive aspects of me, my qualifications and my skills. I tried as much as possible to turn negatives into positives with my responses, but the fact remains that it's like all she heard about me were negative things (processes I didn't like at previous jobs, angry customers, negative experiences with bosses). Totally bogus!
I'm also a bit annoyed at the fact that most of these questions are typically asked during a phone screen. Instead, their initial contact is a cold email and video interview (where it's not even interactive..you just talk to a camera). Kinda odd I was good enough to pass a crappy video interview that I didn't prepare for and did it cold, but somehow didn't pass the in-person. I've been told in the past by EVERY job that I'm a really good interview candidate, so I'm pretty certain I did a good job.
I'm pretty disappointed and surprised quite frankly. Unfortunately I'll probably never know why sinceI'm sure to receive the canned email rejecting me.
