I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (Newark, NJ) in Jul 2016
Interview
I initially applied online on 6/20. I then received an email the following day on 6/21 that my application had been forwarded and had been selected to continue the interview process by doing a video interview with HireVue. Glassdoor was instrumental in my preparation for my video interview. All of the questions that were asked during the video interview can be found on Glassdoor. I recommend taking a day or two to study and prepare your responses for the video interview and when you're ready to take the HireVue interview, do the practice questions so that you're comfortable speaking to the camera when it's time to answer your questions. On 6/24 I did the HireVue interview and on 6/29, I received an email that I had been invited to attend a face to face interview at Newark Airport. My F2F was on 7/7 and there were about 20 other candidates who were scheduled for their F2F interviews as well. Everyone was really and talking to each helped eased our anxiety and nerves prior to the interview. They made a presentation and after the presentation they called us one by one to do our initial F2F. Most of my interview questions were behavioral and related to my work background. So if you know our resume and you answer in the STAR method you'll be fine. After the first interview they brought me into the another room with several other candidates and we to be called in for our second interview. There were 2 interviewers on my second round and I was a bit more nervous on this round because they were pretty stone-faced and I couldn't read exactly what they thought of my answers as easily as I did with my first interviewer but apparently they were happy with my answers because they offered me a conditional job offer on the spot. I begin training on 7/27 and I'm looking forward to this exciting career.
5 Step process, several stages of vetting. Application, assessment, pre-recorded interview, live virtual interview, in person interview. Hardest was in person interview. Practice STAR format. They check to make sure you pass the tattoo requirements several times throughout. Also valid passport as well as background check and DOT drug test.
