On June 30th I created a profile United Airlines career site, and applied on there. I submitted a copy of my resume and cover letter. They sent a confirmation same day that application was received. Next day, July 1st, I received an email stating that my application was submitted to the Inflight Services Recruiting for review. Later same day, I received an invitation to do a video interview within 5 days via HireVue. Since it was a July 4th weekend, we had a family vacation planned and left same day, came home Monday evening, July 4th. I got a terrible cold that weekend and temperature, and was able to prepare on Tuesday a bit. Wednesday morning, this is the 5th day, I took the online video, but I could feel that I wasn't myself, still with fever and cold, my voice was deep and hoarse from the cold. I felt that I didn't do my best, it was hard to concentrate and even though I chose a good attire and proper hairdo and make up, I felt I didn't do my best. Smiling is important, the tone of your voice counts, and dress to impress - so when you do your video interview, make sure of all that, also take the practice questions - they do help. It took 2 weeks for a response, I got a TBNT email on July 18th. They said that I am welcome to re-apply within 6 months.
