I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Jul 2016
Interview
I applied online to United in July 2016 and a few days later received an email inviting me to a one way video interview that I had 5 days to complete from that day. The video interview was very awkward to film and I thought I did terrible (took about 30 minutes or more depending how many times you did the practice questions) but I got another email two days later asking me to schedule a group interview! I was super excited. I called the number they gave me in the email and scheduled my interview for the first day of interviews in Houston, TX. My interview was at 8:30am and I arrived around 8:10am to the location. there were about 25 people in the group interview process and I immediately jumped next to two people and introduced myself and joined in on their conversation. They watch your every move as soon as you walk in the building so make sure you are wearing a smile and talking to everyone you can! LEAVE YOUR PHONE IN THE CAR OR YOUR SUITCASE! Never pull out your phone during anytime during this process! Just some friendly advice. One 8:30am hit, a flight attendant came out and introduced himself and talked a little bit about United and what a great company it is to work for! Everyone was super nice and so excited to meet all of us. Then they played a video about United and what to expect from being a flight attendant, pay, training, and all that jazz. Once it was over, the one on one interviews began. Flight attendants started to come out from the back room and call someones name one by one. I was about the 7th person to be called. Once I was in the back room, my flight attendant interviewer led me to a small cubicle where he interviewed. Thankfully he asked me every question I had studied for and was able to answer thoroughly and quickly so it went smoothly and I was pretty excited. He was very nice and seemed very interested in my responses and was giving me great feedback. He asked me about 10 questions and the told me he was going to send me to another interview. He then led me to another room where they were about 5 people who had been called before me. We were all excited because we knew a second interview was a good thing! We chatted until they started calling names and I was about the 4th one to be called. It was now a 2 on 1 interview and they led me to a separate conference room with a round table in it. They had me sit down and reexplained the conditions to me about becoming a flight attendant with United and made sure I was ok with relocating and training and all that. I told then I was ok with it and then he asked me to tell him more about myself and asked if I had any tattoos. The other guy didn't say much, just listened. After that he congratulated me on making it to the end of the interview process and he showed me out. I thought I did very well and he said I would hear back within the next week via email if I received an invitation to training or not. A week passed and I finally got the email from United's Human Resource Center. I didn't get the position. I was extremely bummed out and wondered what I had done wrong to make them reject me. All in all though it was a great experience and I am glad I made it that far. I am able to reapply in 6 month, which I will most definitely be doing! Hope this helped! :)
