      Flight Attendant Interview

      Aug 24, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Chicago, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2016

      Interview

Applied online early July. Received an invite to do a video interview. You have 120 hours from the time you receive the link to register to do the online interview. I actually called the company, and the video interview does not have to be completed within 5 days, just registered within 5 days. Received an invite to do a f2f about a week after submitting video interview. Scheduled f2f 3 weeks later in Chicago. The interview was at the Willis Tower. We were first interviewed by an FA. I will tell you to dress professional. It may be a coincidence, but the men who did not wear a coat and tie were not asked back for round 2 after lunch. Even though everyone was very nice and looked great, guys please wear a coat and tie. Chicago is the headquarters, and they are very professional. The Willis Building is the Sears Tower. Tons of business people are there. After lunch we were called back one at a time to be interviewed again by HR and a different FA. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Do your research about the company. All questions are on this website. They are behavioral type questions. Come with your stories prepared. In behavioral type questions, they are trying to predict future behavior based on past behavior. I have not done an interview in over 20 years, so this is new to me. I bought "Flight Attendant Interviews Made Easy" Travel Quest Australia, Ltd. Here's the link www.FlightAttendantCareers.com. I am not saying go out and buy this by no means, but it helped me understand the process and what they were looking for. Remember, I am new to this and older than most of the other applicants. After the interview, they told me I would hear from them via e-mail. The next day I got a CJO. Training will be in Houston in January. Be positive, be yourself. Read the company's mission statement. Know what they are looking for in an FA. Read the job description. Relate you behavioral stories to what they are looking for and you will do fine. You can do this.
