Process was structured interview. Six questions were asked placing the candidate in the position applied for and asking how you would handle the situation presented. This process is used to determine experience and skills in the related management disciplines (i.e. Planning and Organizing, Teamwork, Safety, etc.). This process was used to have a consistent process. All candidates answer the same questions to enable a "fair" comparison of their responses. Panel consisted of five managers. Other considerations were experience and knowledge of United's current specific processes. Job was awarded to internal candidate.
