Interview
This is the On-Demand Video Interview. Here, you answer questions on your computer or laptop that appear on your device's screen. There are no people present interviewing you, but it is important to act engaging and as you would in an in-person interview. United has preparation videos you can watch explaining the video interview process and links for checking that your device fully works. If you are not accustomed to speaking on your device, I suggest you practice until you feel and look comfortable doing so. The process it not long. You have a few minutes to answer each question (no repeats) and there are around five questions total. There is also a practice opportunity before you begin the interview. Interviewing can be nerve-wracking, but United does a great job at making sure you understand and are prepared for the process beforehand, so take advantage of this.

Pre recorded interview you get 2 minutes to prepare and it is a total of 8 questions. It gives you about 2 minutes to answer the questions as well and it’s important to use the STAR method.

On-demand virtual interview, 1:1 virtual interview, F2F interview day w/ group activities. Nothing was tricky, but it took about 1.5 months in total. There is also a language exam for those applying to a speaker position.

Why do you want to be a flight attendant for united?
5 Step process, several stages of vetting. Application, assessment, pre-recorded interview, live virtual interview, in person interview. Hardest was in person interview. Practice STAR format. They check to make sure you pass the tattoo requirements several times throughout. Also valid passport as well as background check and DOT drug test.
