      Director Interview

      Feb 24, 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Chicago, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at United Airlines (Chicago, IL) in May 2024

      Interview

Interview process was easy, well prepped, good feedback in-between. The whole process took 3 months, not untypical for an exec role. Negotiation phase didn't go on for too long, internal rates are pretty locked not a lot of room to negotiate on base.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Provide a strategy on how you would design operational support for the organization. Presentation was a plus.

      Director Interview

      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at United Airlines

      Interview

Applied for a role in March, met with recruiter, followed by a virtual interview with the hiring manager and potential peer in April. I was asked to submit a sample of my work to which I prepared, 3 slides. I was invited in for a 3, yes 3 in person interviews in May, with the hiring manager, his peer as well as the vice president. The feedback throughout was good and then silence. A friend who had previously interviewed at United for a Director role, shared at the beginning that he too was taken through a ridiculous amount of interviews then ghosted. This is extremely unprofessional and not what I would expect from a highly respected company such as United.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Typical background questions and asked how I would handle a number of situations.

      Director Interview

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

The interview process was very smooth. I interviewed with a total of 3 people. It was obvious that the last Managing Director, the interviewer, did not even look at my resume and she wasn’t knowledgeable of the dept. It was obvious that perhaps this was a “fishing” interview because shortly after they claimed to have very competitive candidates, basically someone else was in mind, they reposted the job the very next day and had the nerve to advertise the position via recruiting.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you take criticism. Name a time where a direct did not follow through with what they were suppose to and how did you handle it.
