Holding speeds if instructed to hold on a SID leaving LAX at different altitudes. When can you start your turn on that SID if given a heading in the takeoff clearance rather than an RNAV instruction

Completed online assessment and received interview invite. One day interview in Denver total took about 4 hours. HR portion consisted of a resume review and 5 TMAAT questions. Technical was scenario based flight- briefing, weather, diversions, and abnormal procedures were covered. Very friendly and welcoming all around
