      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at United Nations (New York, NY) in Jun 2011

      Interview

United Nations website offers jobs. I was recruited by a number of countries to apply (job extremely senior). Applications are used to eliminated anyone not meeting specifics of job application. A short-list of 3 finalists are selected by a 3-member committee at or above the position level. Verification of schooling, references etc can be extremely long (months). Only the person being offered the job is notified. None of the other candidates ever hear anything, even in writing. Once appointment is made, it can take further months to actually e in place. Watch reassignment (if offered) procedures and cost rules extremely closely and comply - otherwise you pay. First paycheck may take 2 months.

Smooth process to set the time for the virtual interview. Due to their policies they cannot disclose who will join the meeting so I felt I went blindfolded. I found five people/interviewers on their end. The interview was conducted in an orderly manner.
