Long and tedious. I think they focused more on past employers and what they might say. I really dislike this aspect because not every one may speak well of you regardless if you were a good, honest, and dependable worker or not. To me it's like asking your ex- wife, husband etc. how you were as a mate. while failing to ask if he/she was a good partner/employer. We can't always expect them to say something pleasant or positive about us. Although we hope he/she will. Just because we weren't a perfect fit for them doesn't mean we wont be to someone else. Besides, I've heard of people getting friends and family members to lie for them saying they worked there and were supervisors and made X amount of money. But what if you have a poor track record with messed up x-employers like myself.
More importantly, what if you don't have friends and or family members in high places to lie for you. In this regards, you're kinda out of luck when it comes to checking ex-employers references on you. I know for a bare fact not everyone who passed the ex-employer references we're honest in doing so, After all, this is an "At will State." They can fire you because they don't like the color of your shoes. When it comes to being terminated by ex-employers they should also ask if you received unemployment due to wrongful termination. The truth is in the check so to speak. I have the required experience and education. I've had over eight interviews and I'm sure my past ex-employers references are the reason I can't get hired. But, I really want to work for UHG and I am going to keep trying until I succeed. NO MATTER WHAT. Some how and some way. I'm committed to making lives better; while doing my best work. Besides, the same companies I was terminated by are the same ones UHG are enforcing to provide better healthcare to their patients. If they provide poor health care; you know, they're providing equally poor employee care. Speaking from the heart.
