      Claims Adjustment Specialist Interview

      Oct 22, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group in Oct 2015

      Interview

I filled out a application online and recieved a invite to take a online assessment the very next day. After i completed the online assessment i recieved a email asking to provide times that i would be available to do a phone interview. The phone interview went very well. I recommend having your resume handy during the phone interview. the interviewer went over my work history and asked me three behavioral questions. The next day a recruiter called me to schedule a face to face interview. when i went for the face to face interview there was no receptionist desk to check into or ask for who i needed to interview with so i had to go into the callcenter and ask a rep to tell the interviewer that i was there. During the face to face i was asked about 6 difficult behavioral questions, which was strange to me because at all of the interviews that i have had in the past ask maybe 2 behavioral questions and then ask about me. There was no questions like.."tell me about yourself", "why do you want to work for this company?" etc. The interviewer was not the hiring manager which was something else that was very odd but she was very nice and down to earth. after the interview i asked the interviewer when i should hear back and she stated that she will make her decision at the end of the day but didnt know when the recruiter would actually let me know. I waited about 3 days and emailed the recruiter that setup the face to face interview and he told me that it looked like they wanted to move forward with me and i would be hearing from a offer rep within 24hours. At about 6:30 that evening i missed a call from the offer rep an she left a message with her callback number and extention. when i finally go the message and called her back she had went home for the day so i tried back the next day. So...the next day comes and i call her back and she offers me a backup position. I have never heard of a company doing this. Backup meaning if someone doesnt past their background check or drug screening or doesn't show up for traing. I think that this is a inconvience to me and is very unacceptable from a company with such great values. I currently have a full time job and i wouldnt want to leave without putting in a two weeks notice and with this offer there would be no way that i could do so. I just did not expect this type of experience from such an establish company.
