      Backend Developer Interview

      Nov 2, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Buenos Aires
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Upgrade (Buenos Aires) in Nov 2018

      Interview

Phone interview with HR. Then codepen with developer from USA remotely. The interviewer talked about himself, then asked about myself. I had 15 less minutes to solve the excersices cause I got late to the interview. Then a code pen with a dumb excersice about coding a Map in Java. If you want to know if I know the theory about Map structure or how are Maps implemented in Java then you can ask and I will happy to answer with all the details, but please, don't ask me to code a map. Give some more interesting excercise to test the coding skills, be more imaginative. Makes no sense and it's dumb. I said I didn't wanted to waste time doing such excersice and the interview finished there. Also I had already read all the bad reviews of the company here and that added to the fact that the excersise was dumb led me to say no and quit the interview. The interviewer didnt even care, its like he had been forced to do interviews and he hated it.
