I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Vanguard (Scottsdale, AZ) in Sep 2013
Interview
Initial phone screening with recruiter. Roughly 30 minutes to get to know you. Make sure you have some knowledge of capital markets and investment products. Example what is an ETF. Invited to group interview/career fair. You will meet with managers from each department depending on which site you apply for. Lasted roughly 2 hours. Offered in person interview. STAR based questions with two hiring managers you will have to complete a role play. OK if you are not familiar with processes or the intricacies of the job. They are looking for your ability to please clients with CRM skills and go above and beyond for clients.

The interview process was pretty standard, starting with a phone interview and then moving to a virtual team meeting with the recruiter. Very friendly and open to answering your questions.

What do you know about Vanguard?
Tell me about a time... handling a customer, difficulties, multitasking
Seamless process with very kind people. They made it easy to talk about my experience prior and answered all of my questions honestly. They went by fairly quickly but it felt more like a conversation than an interview.
