      Interview

      Start with a brief phone screening, usually around an hour that will test you on basic financial knowledge. They will invite you on the spot for an on campus interview (if you pass). On campus interview is 4 hours with a group interview for the first hour (ask as many smart questions as you can, show your interest!!) 2nd hour case study (use all of your past costumer service experience, make them feel unique and valuable) 3rd hour behavioral questions (practice this questions before the interview, if you follow my guide you will get the job) last hour (H.R with all of the amazing benefits this company offers)

What is a Mutual Fund? What is a Stock? What is a Bond? What is an Index Fund? what is FINRA? what is the series 7 licensing about? what is the series 66 licensing about? Difference between money market fund, a fixed income fund, and a equity fund? Difference between ETF, Mutual Fund and IRA? Difference between stocks and bonds? Difference between ETF and Mutual Fund? What current market situation interests you and will affect Vanguard? What's something happening in the news financially related that interests you? Why are you interested in Vanguard? what do you know about Vanguard? what are vanguard values? what makes vanguard different? Why Finance? tell me about a time you showed leadership? Describe how you would go about explaining to a potential customer how to invest their money when they do not even know the basics to investing or what vanguard has to offer.? How to you let people at your job know that you're busy, and how do you prioritize? Tell a situation where you had to explain a complex process to an individual or group, how you did so, what was the outcome, and what you would have done differently? A customer calls and asks you if they should open an index fund or an ETF to save for their child’s college education. What do you say in response? What would you say to a client who asked you if investing in ETFs is a good way to save for his child's college? Explain a time when you unsuccessfully attempted to teach a concept to someone. tell me about a time you had to sell something difficult?       Interview

      The interview was a two step process, the phone screen was about 15 mins and they were mainly looking for clarity of your voice and if you are articulate. The virtual 1-on-1 interview was fairly easy, about 6 STAR-based questions regarding customer service, communication skills, and learning agility.
