Disappointing hiring experience. After multiple interview rounds, I was told I was the final candidate and that an offer was being prepared. Shortly after, I received a rejection due to a ‘shift in business needs’ and concerns that were not previously raised. While changes can happen, communicating that an offer is imminent and then reversing course reflects poor internal alignment. This is a smaller organization with no defined systems and processes, the lack of internal alignment and structure led to a frustrating and unprofessional candidate experience.
