Two phone calls with two recruiters, 1 phone call with the hiring manager, followed by two or three conference calls - nothing on site. This was a LONG process, with people who were all over the map on whether I was a good fit. The questions were quite easy, and I thought this was a perfect fit for my skills and experience as a B2B data scientist who had previously worked in telecom/technology. It was very disappointing when the recruiter e-mailed to tell me that "the business has been working on their strategy for hiring in Boston" and asked whether I could wait 2 or 3 months, until the January/February time frame Imagine my surprise when I see advertisements for several similar positions in the Boston area. I went back to the Verizon website to apply and re-use my prior resume and application. Imagine my further surprise when I find that the prior application had somehow been altered, deleting my most current work experience. I have no idea whether the system ate part of the resume/application or something else happened. Regardless, the position I had applied for 2 or 3 months ago was no longer recruiting and the recruiter never had the decency to tell me that. And who knows what happened to my application/resume in their system.
