I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret (Manchester, England) in Apr 2016
Interview
I applied online then got an email telling me i would have an interview phone call. The phone call was just why do you want to work there and your availability. Then i got asked to come in for a group interview. i made a huge effort, wore low black heels put my hair in a top knot (tried to look as much VS angely as i could). There was about 16 of us in the interview. There are the standard questions.. 'tell us a fun fact about yourself' then you split into two groups and do a task.. there are a few items on the table and they are like 'a boyfriend has come in looking for a gift for their girlfriend' so kind of use your initiative and be like 'we wouldnt recommend this... as its an exact size so if he doesnt know her size its not the best idea.. however this perfume is not only light weight but every girl loves to receive perfume. etc. they then ask individual interview question like listed below. The selling question is a test to see if you will become a seller or generalist so really try and stand out because sellers are on 8% commision, you can earn over 2k+ per month as a seller. another tip would be ask questions at the end, because when they rung me up to tell me i got the job they first say what you did well in and what you didnt and they were impressed i was very inquizative so i said 'whats the best thing about working at VS' 'how long have you worked there for' (people love talking about themselves. its an extremely american based brand so be very confident and smiley.
just to warn you though it is an extremely tough company to work for, if you are a seller its so so hard to make sales and people steal your sales. you have to make £150 per hour to get your commision and thats averaged over the month. they are a little sly too as if you dont work the majority of the commision month you dont get anything youve earned which is ridiculous! i was owed 1,500 and only got 230 holiday pay. its too much stress as a part time job, unless its your career. they also decline most holidays. its not a good company to work for. ive been there for 3 months and the amount of girls whom have left is awful. ive just left as i wake up stressed every day thinking about work and making my targets. i just handed my letter of resignation in because i was sick of the company i would rather have no job than work there. I will just really miss the staff discount!
Hiring managers prioritize your personality, availability, and customer service mindset, looking for candidates who are friendly, adaptable, reliable, and comfortable engaging with customers, rather than focusing heavily on prior experience or technical skills.
Very easy, first a phone call then meeting in person. Took a while to be seen in person even after the scheduled meeting time, they had me just kind of stand in a corner for a while waiting for someone to become available.
