I applied in-person. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret (Murfreesboro, TN) in Jun 2016
Interview
I applied in person then got a call the next day to set up an interview for 2 weeks later. I went in for the interview and arrived early. It was a group interview and when 2pm came around I was the only one that had arrived. The manager that was supposed to be interviewing me was just standing around waiting for more people I guess. So 2:15 comes around another girl finally shows up and the manger decides to take us back for the interview. During the interview she tried to seem like she was interested in both of us but it was obvious she liked the other girl based on her appearance a lot more. I have open availability and over two and a half years of retail experience including high end retail and credit card selling experience. The other girl couldn't work on weekends and had another job she was going to be working at the same time. Also, she had less retail experience. However, she looked like every other girl that worked there. I'm hoping there was another factor that the manager didn't like about me that made her choose the other girl over me because if she hired her then I should have definitely been hired as well.
Hiring managers prioritize your personality, availability, and customer service mindset, looking for candidates who are friendly, adaptable, reliable, and comfortable engaging with customers, rather than focusing heavily on prior experience or technical skills.
Very easy, first a phone call then meeting in person. Took a while to be seen in person even after the scheduled meeting time, they had me just kind of stand in a corner for a while waiting for someone to become available.
