I've interviewed at Vinfen twice, received an offer once; both experiences were negative. I interviewed for a full-time position in human services at Vinfen's South Shore Location. The position was promising, incorporating many of my existing skills. It offered $8,000 less than my annual salary at my prior position however, and the job title was vague and inaccurate. After three rounds of interviews, I was offered the position. When I very diplomatically requested a salary increase and change in job title via the HR rep who sent me the offer letter, she said she'd forward my request on to the management who'd interviewed me. She then called to tell me the management at the South Shore location had decided to rescind my job offer! I have never experienced anything so disrespectful and ridiculous elsewhere. A job offer is just that, an offer, subject to negotiation. Apparently not at Vinfen. I later interviewed at Gateway Arts, a Vinfen human services/art education provider, with a referral from HR. The Director at Gateway does her own hiring, outside of their typical HR processes. Over the phone, the Director informed me she was impressed with my resume, that she had not received any competitive resumes to-date (to the point that she was concerned about hiring for the position) and was relieved I had applied, as the previous candidates she had interviewed had not left a positive impression, and she was excited to have me come in to interview as soon as possible. I interviewed three days later, the interview went very positively, though I noted the staff was very homogenous. I was informed almost immediately following my interview that I would not be moving forward in the interview process, and when, genuinely shocked considering what I'd been told and the successful interview, I asked for feedback (my initial e-mail to this regard was ignored, I followed up with a phone-call), I was told the Director had "just received so many impressive resumes," and "it was just so competitive a selection process." It was so disingenuous, the complete fabrication of a instantaneous spate of impressive resumes; it was clear the Director had forgotten what she'd told me about the other candidates for the position prior to meeting me in person. Very disappointing. From my experiences, I would find it difficult to trust management at this company.
