First a telephone interview with the HR including verification of English level with simple questions, just to make sure you have the level required to work with Geophysics. The second phase was an interview in its office, during all the day. Some days before the HR contact send an email saying to pay attention to the inbox email until the day before the interview. One day before, they send a theme (4D seismic using CGG technolgy) and instruction to make a four slide presentation in English (however you could choose to present in English or Portuguese). In the day of the interview, the first part (morning) was to do the presentations for the managers (seismic processing and HR). After the presentation they ask how I prepared the presentation and myself, why I chose that perspective for the presentation and things related to that. The second part (afternoon) was a interview based on the CV, talking about my background and any experience I had. Also included motivational questions about why they should hire me (not exactly this, but in this sense). Not even one technical question about processing or Geophysics was made, what makes some sense since they look at your background. One thing I concluded (from the interview results, since there was others in the interview in the office) was that being french certainly helps to be hired, specially if you have the legal right to work in Brazil. I think it is almost 100% chance to be hired if you are french (with visa for Brazil) and have a bachelor degree (not necessarily in Geophysics). Maybe this give points for the managers.
